Siward and Jauch Quartz Group reached a strategic alliance agreement
Siward Crystal Technology Group (Taiwan) and Jauch Quartz Group (Germany)
have reached a strategic alliance agreement to set up a joint venture company
in Singapore, Jauch & Siward Holdings Pte. Ltd., in order to handle the future
development needs of both companies.
Jauch Quartz has been in business for over 50 years. Its annual sales in
2009 exceeded 50 million US dollars and they are one of the largest suppliers
for quartz crystal devices in Europe. In addition to a fully automatic inventory
control and distribution system, Jauch Quartz has established a limited production
capacity facility in Germany for timely delivery of samples to customers. The
company is also equipped with a professional FAE team to offer local technical
services and support. Industrial companies and automotive makers are the two
major customer groups of Jauch Quartz in Europe and America.
Today, Jauch Quartz has its own production factories in Surabaya, Indonesia
and Suzhou, China. The production factories in both countries conform to the
TS-16949 standard required for the manufacturing of automotive parts. In view
of Siward’s advantage in new product development as well as in the operation
and management of production factories, the two companies plan to integrate
Jauch Quartz factory in Indonesia with Siward’s factory in WuXi, China into the
Jauch Suzhou factory as one production site for effective cost reduction in
manufacturing and operation.
The strategic alliance agreement would further drive the business between the
two companies to a new high in the coming years. Jauch Quartz expects to double
its sale for Siward products within three years by reaching and selling to more
customers in Europe through the support of Siward products.
In anticipation of the increasing demands in the domestic and international
markets, Siward placed orders in late 2009 to purchase 7 million US dollars
of production equipment to expand capacity. Some of the production equipment
has already arrived in the Siward factory in Taiwan and more equipment is on
the way. This additional capacity is expected to be ready for full production by the
end of Q1, 2010.
Initially, Jauch Quartz and Siward will cooperate jointly under the framework of
the strategic alliance agreement. In the future, as the market situation develops
the two companies may pursue a wider scope of integration for better and stronger
